Civil Engineer - Openings in Winston-Salem and Charlotte

About the Role

We’re looking for a Civil Engineer Associate II with 3+ years of experience to support roadway, municipal, and transportation projects. This role will focus on civil design, construction plans, engineering calculations, and project documentation, with opportunities to contribute to water resources and site development projects.

What You’ll Do

• Design roadways and support municipal and transportation projects.
\n
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
\n
• Perform engineering calculations, develop design criteria, and prepare technical reports.
\n
• Review designs for compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
\n
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, contractors, and other professionals.
\n
• Support water resources and site development projects as needed.
\n
• Conduct occasional field visits related to design, construction, and compliance.
\n
• Manage project deadlines and provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
\n
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience.
\n
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
\n
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
\n
• Experience preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work collaboratively with a team.
\n
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for project needs.
\n

Nice to Have

\n
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
\n
• Experience with WisDOT projects or Wisconsin municipalities.
\n
• Familiarity with local agency design standards and requirements.
\n
• Experience with transportation, water resources, or site development projects.
\n
