About the Position Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional piano i nstructor to teach part-time at Music House School of Music , which has three locations in Prairie Village, Overland Park and Lenexa, KS. Teachers are not required to teach at all three locations, but preference will be given to those who can teach at multiple. We are looking for teachers who will instruct in person. Teachers are primarily needed for Tuesday nights between 3-9pm. Ability to instruct Group Classes is highly beneficial. General teacher duties include: Teaching private lessons in a way that builds on the strengths and interests of the student. Leading group classes through the Music House curriculum. Attending monthly faculty meetings. Assisting with three community events per year (recitals, jam sessions, faculty concerts). Communicating and interacting with parents, fellow teaching faculty, and administrative staff. Tracking student attendance and maintaining detailed teaching notes. Signing students up for and preparing them for group and individual performances. Creating and/or following lesson plans and teaching guides. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in music education or performance is preferred. At least 1 year of teaching experience. Group teaching experience a plus. Performance experience in both an individual and ensemble setting. Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking and listening). Organized, detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficient using technology including but not limited to computers, mobile devices, internet browsers, and various online applications. Appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check. Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $24-$28/hour.
